Farmington walked off in the bottom of the eighth thanks to three straight singles by Justin King, Sam Needham and Nick Bauer.

“It was a great first game for us. We got good pitching, solid defense and timely hitting. We were also able to come back twice and then win it in extra innings, so it is really something for the kids to be able to build off of and think back to in future games,” Farmington coach Jon Graff said. “They see that if we just stay in the moment and focus on the next pitch, we won't get too hung up on things if they aren't going our way.”

King started on the mound and allowed two runs on three hits over six innings. Dylan Bergstad provided two scoreless innings in picking up the win.

Needham and Max Barthel each provided two of Farmington’s nine hits. Bergstad had a sacrifice fly and Needham knocked in two runs.
