Volleyball: Fahning leads Tigers to sweep

The Farmington volleyball team notched its second Missota Conference win of the year with a sweep of Holy Angels on the road at Richfield last Thursday.

The Tigers (17-10) held on 25-23 in Game 1 before pulling away 25-15 and 25-22 to complete the three-game match.

Emma Fahning did a little bit of everything for the Tigers, slamming 16 kills, contributing a team-high 18 digs and receiving 18 serves. She also picked up a pair of ace serves of her own.

Mackenzie Hesse added eight kills and Morgan Cecchettini had six. They were set up by Ruthie Schmitt, who put up 31 assists.

The Tigers closed out the regular season Tuesday night at home against Shakopee. The Section 1AAA tournament begins on Wednesday at the home of the higher seeds.
