Woman injured in Jan. 31 crash dies
Farmington Minnesota P.O. Box 192 / 312 Oak St. 55024

A Roseville woman injured in a Jan. 31 crash in Empire Township has died.

The woman’s family took her off of life support just before midnight Feb. 3.

According to the Dakota County Sheriff’s office, Susanne Elizabeth Preda, 39, was westbound on 160th Street near Barbara Avenue when her Chevy Impala abruptly crossed the center line. The Impala was hit on the rear passenger side by an eastbound GMC Envoy, causing it to spin out of control and into the ditch on the south side of the road.

An off-duty Hastings firefighter witnessed the crash and initially found Preda belted into her car but without a pulse. He started CPR and revived her. She was taken to St. Paul’s Regions Hospital in critical condition.

There were three people in the Envoy, and all reported minor injuries. The driver and one passenger were taken to Regions for treatment.

The accident is still under investigation.
