Farmington's Nick Albano, Eric Adrian and Carl Elmer represented the home team well by wrestling their way to undefeated records at Saturday's 10-team Farmington Tiger Duals.
Albano, a third-place finisher at last season's state meet, took down a pair of ranked wrestlers during his 3-0 performance. He opened with a 6-4 decision over Lakeville North's seventh-ranked heavyweight, Mike Larson, that left the Tigers just short in a 38-37 opening-round loss to Lakeville North.
Albano came back with a win over eighth-ranked (Class A) Brady Vieths of Goodhue, but the Tigers managed to claim just five total weights in a 45-27 setback. Albano closed out his day with a pin in the Tigers' 45-30 loss to Lake City in the ninth-place dual.
Adrian and Elmer each won a pair of matches via fall, with both coming against Lakeville North and Lake City. Adrian added an 8-0 major decision at 171 pounds against Goodhue and Elmer won the 140-pound match thanks to a forfeit.
Also earning wins against Lakeville North were 125-pounder Seth Franklin, who scored a 16-5 major decision, and Joe Hoeve and Jake French, who each provided pins.
Hoeve picked up another win in the next dual, fighting his way to a 9-7 decision at 152 pounds. Will Pauling was the Tigers' only other double winner as he earned pins against Goodhue and Lake City at 145 pounds.
The Tigers are at home again tomorrow night when Shakopee comes to Farmington High School for a Missota Conference dual.
