Wrestling: Full lineup not enough against Bloomington

Farmington pieced together its first complete lineup of the season at Saturday's Section 2AAA Team Championships, but it wasn't enough to avoid a 45-21 loss to top-seeded Bloomington Jefferson/Kennedy.

The Tigers won five of their 14 matches, three of which came from state-ranked wrestlers Carl Elmer, Eric Adrian and Nick Albano.

Elmer, ranked eighth in the state, scored a second-period pin at 140 pounds. Adrian, rated sixth at 160 pounds, followed with a 7-3 decision and third-ranked 215-pounder Nick Albano earned a pin to reach the 20-win mark.

Elmer and Adrian each improved their records to 26-3.

Farmington also got a pair of wins in the low weights. Joey Liden got the Tigers on the board with a first-period pin at 112 pounds and Seth Franklin (19-12) won by 10-8 decision at 125 pounds.

Joe Hoeve, Will Pauling, Dakota Louis-Dupay and Dillion Pariseau all lost to ranked Bloomington wrestlers.

The Tigers will try to advance some of their top wrestlers to the state tournament at Saturday's Section 2AAA Individual Championships at Prior Lake.
