Patriotic Day

Farmington’s annual Patriotic Day will take place at 5 p.m. Nov. 7 at Farmington High School. The event will include a free pork chop dinner for up to 1,200 people starting at 5 p.m. and a program recognizing veterans of the Vietnam War starting at 7 p.m. For more information visit www.farmington.k12.mn.us.

Spaghetti dinner fundraiser

Trinity Lutheran Church will hold a spaghetti dinner fundraiser from 5 to 7 p.m. Nov. 9 to raise money for its Haiti 2014 mission trip. The church is located at 600 Walnut St.

451st Army Band

The 451st Army Band will perform with the Farmington High School Wind Ensemble at 6:30 p.m. Nov. 9 at Farmington High School.

Turkey Bingo

The Farmington Fire Department will hold its annual Turkey Bingo fundraiser from 6 to 10 p.m. Nov. 9 at Fire Station 1 on Denmark Ave. Refreshments will be served and there will be door-prize drawings throughout the evening. Proceeds benefit the fire department relief association. Fire Station 1 is located at 21625 Denmark Ave.

Pancake breakfast

The Farmington Knights of Columbus will hold a pancake breakfast from 9 a.m. to noon Nov. 10 at the Church of St. Michael. A free will offering will be accepted. Money raised will go to a variety of worthy causes supported by the KCs. The church is located at 22120 Denmark Ave.

Michelle Leonard joined the Woodbury Bulletin staff in November, 2014, after 14 years covering news for the Bulletin's sister publication, the Farmington Rosemount Independent Town Pages.  Michelle earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Mass Communications: News-Editorial from Mankato State University in 1991. She is an active member of the American Legion Auxiliary Clifford Larson Unit 189 of Farmington, and is the 2014-15 Third District President to the American Legion Auxiliary Department of Minnesota. Michelle is also the volunteer coordinator for the Minnesota Newspaper Museum which is open annually during the Minnesota State Fair. She has earned Minnesota Newspaper Association awards in Investigative Reporting, Local News Coverage, Feature Photography and Column Writing.
