Summer reading program starts
The Dakota County Library System will kick off their summer reading program June 8. Youth from newborns to teens entering 12th grade can sign up at their local library for the Bookawocky Summer Reading Experience.
The program is free and prizes are available. Visit your local library for more information.
At this event, learn how to use Twitter to connect with friends, potential customers and colleagues with the help of Jay Gabler, associate editor of the Twin Cities Daily Planet. Presented by Twin Cities Media Alliance and funded by MELSA.
The event will take place from 6 to 8 p.m. June 10.
Teen Library Day
A variety of activities, games, readings, crafts, discussion and more on the second Tuesday of every month starting 3:30 to 4:30 p.m., June 11. Ages 10 to 16 are welcome.
Meet Ron Schara and Raven
Author and television personality Ron Schara and his dog Raven wil be at the Rambling River Center from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. June 12 . Schara will share stories of living outdoors, about his nature watching, hunting, fishing and camping. Tickets are required and will be available beginning May 1 at the Farmington Library. The event is free. The Rambling River Center is located at 325 Oak Street.
There will be a Red Cross blood drive from 12:30 to 5:30 p.m. June 13 at RoundBank, 3380 Vermillion River Tr. in Farmington. For more information or to make an appointment visit redcrossblood.org or call 1-800-RED-CROSS.
Farmington Lutheran Church will hold its annual salad luncheon from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. June 13. The menu will include deviled eggs, desserts, rolls and beverages. The church is located at 20600 Akin Road.
