Friday

Magician Matt Dunn

A dry-witted comedy magic show with a live rabbit, audience participation, magic and fun for the entire family. The event is from 10:30 to 11:15 a.m. Aug. 16. All ages welcome.

Live music

Wayne Hamilton will perform from 8 to 10 p.m. Aug. 16 at Dunn Bros. in Farmington. Dunn Bros. is located at 20700 Chippendale Ave. in the Tamarack Ridge Center.

Saturday

Junior bowling sign-up

There will be a sign-up session for junior bowling at Farmington Lanes from 10 a.m. to noon Aug. 17 and 24.

Car show

Pellicci Ace Hardware, Trinity Care Center, Impact Auto Repair and the Farmington Business Association will hold Hot Rods & Hardware from 4 to 8 p.m. Aug. 17. The show will be located at Pellicci/Trinity at 3560 213th Street W. There will be gift bags for the first 50 cars, a food truck, entertainment and hardware specials. Steak fry

Farmington VFW Post 7662 will hold a fundraiser steak fry for the Farmington Veterans Memorial from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 17. The menu will include a Von Hanson steak, baked potato, salad, veggie sticks, dessert, coffee and lemonade. The VFW post is located at 421 Third St.

Upcoming event

Storytime in the park

Join us for stories, games and crafts in the park from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Aug. 21. The park for this event is Farmington Preserve Park, 19975 Embers Ave., Farmington. Ages 2-8. Presented in partnership with City of Farmington Parks & Recreation.

Michelle Leonard
Michelle Leonard joined the Woodbury Bulletin staff in November, 2014, after 14 years covering news for the Bulletin's sister publication, the Farmington Rosemount Independent Town Pages.  Michelle earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Mass Communications: News-Editorial from Mankato State University in 1991. She is an active member of the American Legion Auxiliary Clifford Larson Unit 189 of Farmington, and is the 2014-15 Third District President to the American Legion Auxiliary Department of Minnesota. Michelle is also the volunteer coordinator for the Minnesota Newspaper Museum which is open annually during the Minnesota State Fair. She has earned Minnesota Newspaper Association awards in Investigative Reporting, Local News Coverage, Feature Photography and Column Writing.
