Your weekend: Farmington's World Day of Prayer service will be Friday
World Day of Prayer
The Farmington Sons of the American Legion and VFW Men’s Auxiliary will hold their monthly Veterans Omelet Breakfast from 8 a.m. to noon at the Farmington VFW, 421 Third St. The cost is $10 for adults, with discounts available for children senior citizens and veterans. Proceeds from the breakfast will benefit SAL and the VFW Men’s Auxiliary and their charities.
Mexican train dominoes
There will be a game of Mexican train dominoes from 10:30 a.m. to noon on the second and fourth Mondays of the month at the Rambling River Center in Farmington. The next game is March 10. Anyone is welcome to play. Rambling River Center is located at 325 Oak St.
Relay for Life meeting
There will be a planning meeting for Farmington’s Relay for Life fundraiser for the American Cancer Society at 6 p.m. March 11 at Farmington Lanes. Anyone interested in putting together at team is invited to attend.
Corned beef and cabbage
American Legion Auxiliary Unite 189 and the VFW Ladies Auxiliary Unite 7662 will hold a corned beef and cabbage fundraiser dinner from 4 to 7 p.m. March 17 at the Farmington VFW. Proceeds will benefit the two auxiliaries and their projects. The VFW is located at 421 Third St.
Guests are invitied to bring old pairs of shoes or boots to donate to Farmington Youth Development's Soles4Souls shoe collection project. A collection box will be present near the front entrance to the VFW.
Storytime for all ages
There will be a storytime for all ages from 10:30 to 11 a.m. March 7 at the Dakota County Farmington Library. Storytime includes stories and activities ideal for mixed-age groups such as childcare groups and families. The library is temporarily located at Farmington City Hall, 430 Third St.
Teen Advisory Group meeting
The Dakota County Farmington Library Teen Advisory Group will meet from 6 to 7 p.m. March 10. The TAG recommends books and music, helps plan library programs and participates in community events and service projects. The group is open to anyone ages 12 to 18 and new members are welcome. The library is temporarily located at Farmington City Hall, 430 Third St.
