Friday

Community bonfire and candy walk

Farmington’s Scouting programs will hold a community bonfire and candy walk from 6 to 9 p.m. Oct. 25 at Farmington Fire Station No. 1. There will be information about Cub Scouts, Boy and Girl Scouts, Venture Scouts and Fire Explorers as well as a chance for kids to stock up on some pre-Halloween candy. Organizers will collect non-perishable food donations for the Farmington Food Shelf.

Halloween Walk

Farmington's annual Halloween Walk will be held from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 25, at Dodge Middle School. Admission is free, but participants are asked to bring nonperishable items for the Farmington Food Shelf. The Halloween Walk is sponsored by School District 192 Community Education and the Farmington Parks and Recreation Department.

Halloween Skate

The Farmington Parks and Recreation Department will host a Halloween Skate event from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., at the Schmitz-Maki Ice Arena. Admission is free, but participants should bring a nonperishable food item for the Farmington Food Shelf.

Petting zoo

Skyview Ranch will offer a petting zoo from 9 a.m. to noon Oct. 26. Admission is free for parents and kids under 1 year old and $5 for other children. All kids receive a pumpkin with their paid admission. Skyview Ranch is located at 2413 210th St. E.

Norwegian supper and bake sale

Christiania Lutheran Church will hold its 31st annual Norwegian lutefisk supper and bake sale Oct. 26. The meal, served family style, will consist of lutefisk and meatballs with gravy as well as homemade lefse, Scandinavian cookies and julekaka. Settings are 2:30, 4 and 5:30 p.m. with the bake sale starting at 3:30. For information, call the church at 952-461-2283.

Live music

Frogmouth will perform Oct. 26 at the Farmington VFW. There will be a costume contest that night. The VFW is located at 421 Third St.

Blood drive

There will be a Red Cross blood drive from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Oct. 29 at Valmont Industries, 20805 Eaton Ave. in Farmington. For more information or to make an appointment call 1-800-RED-CROSS or visit redcrossblood.org.

Haunted garage

Farmington’s annual haunted garage will return from 6 to 9 p.m. Oct. 31. The garage is located at 18577 Euclid Path. Admission is a food shelf donation.

Halloween party

Trinity Care Center will hold a Halloween party at from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Oct. 31. Kids in costume can decorate a cookie, do the cookie walk and trick-or-treat. The care center is located at 3410 213th St.

Craft, quilt and bake sale

Farmington Lutheran Church will hold its annual craft, quilt and bake sale from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Nov. 2. Cinnamon rolls and coffee will be available starting at 9 a.m. and lunch will be served from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. The church is located at 20600 Akin Road.

FHS band brunch and indoor concert

The Farmington High School band program will hold its annual band brunch from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Nov. 3 in the FHS commons. Proceeds will benefit band students. The Tiger marching band will hold an indoor marching band concert at 3 p.m. Nov. 2.

Try hockey for free

Boys and girls ages 4 to 9 can try hockey for free from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Nov. 2 at Schmitz-Maki Arena. The event is held in conjunction with USA Hockey as part of the NHL’s Come Play Hockey Month. There will be prizes from USA Hockey and the NHL. There will also be a limited amount of equipment available for use. To sign up, go to tryhockeyforfree.com.

Patriotic Day

Farmington’s annual Patriotic Day will take place at 5 p.m. Nov. 7 at Farmington High School. The event will include a free pork chop dinner for up to 1,200 people starting at 5 p.m. and a program recognizing veterans of the Vietnam War starting at 7 p.m. For more information visit www.farmington.k12.mn.us.

451st Army Band

The 451st Army Band will perform with the Farmington High School Wind Ensemble at 6:30 p.m. Nov. 9 at Farmington High School.

Turkey Bingo

The Farmington Fire Department will hold its annual Turkey Bingo fundraiser from 6 to 10 p.m. Nov. 9 at Fire Station 1 on Denmark Ave. Refreshments will be served and there will be door-prize drawings throughout the evening. Proceeds benefit the fire department relief association. Fire Station 1 is located at 21625 Denmark Ave.

Movie night

The city of Hampton will show The Croods at 7 p.m. Nov. 9 at Hampton city hall. The showing is part of a series of monthly movie nights through December.
