Family Fun Day
Dakota City Heritage Village will hold its June Family and Friends Fun Day June 13, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The village buildings will be open and visitors can take guided tours, have a picnic on the grounds and participate in on-site activities. Author and former Farmington resident Bonnie Rose Ward will appear at Dunn Bros. in Farmington from 11 a.m. to noon June 14 with her book, Winds of Skilak: A Tale of True Grit, True Love and Survival in the Alaskan Wilderness. The book is a memoir of her time living off the land on an Alaskan island. It is the winner of the 2014 Next Generation Indie Book Awards in the memoir category.
Antique tractor swap meet
The Dakota County Two-Cylinder Club will hold its annual antique tractor swap meet and flea market from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. June 14 and 15 at the Dakota County Fairgrounds.
Farmington’s annual summer celebration gets under way next week with Tuesday’s Miss Farmington coronation and continues through the weekend with events including bed races, pizza and pie eating contests, big wheel races and Saturday’s Grand Day parade. Prayer for healing and peace
Farmington Lutheran, Light of the World and Lord of Life churches will hold a service of prayer for healing and peace at 7 p.m. June 18 at Farmington Lutheran. All are welcome to receive and offer prayers for yourself, loved ones and for the sake of the world. For information call the Farmington Lutheran office at 651-463-4100.
The Farmington Masons of Corinthian Lodge will hold their fifth annual Farmington High School College Scholarship Waffle Breakfast Fundraiser from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. June 21. The breakfast will take place at the lodge, 326 Third St.
Rambling River Center will hold a live bike auction from 8 to 10 a.m. June 21. The bikes were collected by Farmington police over the past year and have gone unclaimed. Anyone who has bike lost or stolen in the past year and would like to make sure it’s not included should call the police department at 651-280-6700. Once the auction begins a bike cannot be claimed. Rambling River Center is located at 325 Oak St.
The Farmington VFW will hold a steak fry to benefit the Farmington High School dance team from 5 to 8 p.m. June 21. The VFW is located at 421 Third St.
