Wreath making

American Legion Auxiliary Unit 189 and VFW Ladies Auxiliary Unit 7662 will gather to make poppy wreaths at 6 p.m., on May 22. The poppy wreaths will be placed on placed veterans’ graves for Memorial Day. All members are encouraged to participate. The VFW is located at 421 Third St., Farmington.

Memorial Day ceremonies

Two Memorial Day ceremonies will be held on Sunday, May 25. The first ceremony will be held at the Farmington Lutheran Cemetery, beginning at noon. The Farmington Lutheran Cemetery is located in Eureka Township. Castle Rock Valley Cemetery will hold a memorial program at 2 p.m. May 25. Vicky Kline will speak and members of Farmington veterans’ groups will present the military salute. Castle Rock cemetery is located six miles southeast of Farmington at 25521 Alverno Ave.

Memorial Day service

The annual Memorial Day ceremony for the Farmington community will be held at Corinthian Cemetery on Monday, May 26, beginning at 10 a.m. Marchers from the American Legion and VFW clubs are encouraged to participate. Lineup will be on at the Tamarack Ridge mall on 208th St. 

Blue Thumb workshop

The Dakota County Soil and Water Conservation District will hold a Blue Thumb workshop on planting for clean water at 6:15 p.m. June 4 at the Dakota County Farmington Library, 508 Third St. Registration is required.
