Handmade books

Teens can try making their own books at a handmade books workshop from 2 to 4 p.m. June 30. Participants will use funky materials to create a handmade book with the help of the ArtStart Scrapmobile. Registration required. A Minnesota Legacy program.

Kids' movies

There will be movies for kids -- complete with popcorn -- from 10:30 to 11 a.m. July 2 at the Dakota County Farmington Library.

Outdoor church service

Farmington Lutheran Church and Light of the World Lutheran will team up for an outdoor church service at 9:30 a.m. July 4 at Farmington Lutheran. The service will kick off a month of outdoor services in July at Farmington Lutheran.

The church is located at 20600 Akin Road.

Weekend

The Jungle Book

Farmington Community Education and The Play's the Thing Productions will team up to present Disney's The Jungle Book Kids at 1 and 7 p.m. July 1 and 2 at Boeckman Middle School. The musical will feature 17 young performers. This is the first musical The Play's the Thing has offered to Farmington residents and the group hopes to make it a tradition.
