February 14

Valentine's dinner

The Farmington VFW Ladies Auxiliary will hold a Valentine's Day spaghetti dinner from 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 14. Lady and the Tramp and Sleepless in Seattle will be shown on the big screen. Proceeds will go to Marcella Arnold Scholarships and new vests for the auxiliary.

The club is located at 421 Third St.

February 15

Benefit concert

Classical and flamenco guitarist Randall Ferguson will perform a benefit concert for Farmington Middle School West student Andrew Kippley at 3 p.m. Feb. 15 at Farmington Lutheran Church, 20600 Akin Rd. He will play several historic guitars, banjos and mandolins from as far back as 1785.

Andrew has been diagnosed with neuroblastoma, a form of cancer.

Wedding show

Trinity Care Center will have a wedding show at 1 p.m. Feb. 15. The event will feature a number of people modeling their old wedding or prom dresses or tuxedos. Talk with residents about your wedding experiences or let them talk about theirs.

Genealogy class

The Dakota City Genealogy class will meet at 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 21 at Ahlberg Hall on the Dakota County fairgrounds. Anyone interested in family history is invited to come.

Steak fry

The Farmington VFW will hold a steak fry fund-raiser for Boy Scout troop 118 from 5 to 9 p.m. Feb. 21.

The club is located at 421 Third St.

Foreclosure workshop

The Dakota County Community Development Agency will hold a free workshop from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Feb. 21 for homeowners worried about making upcoming mortgage payments, already facing foreclosure or interested in learning about foreclosure. The session will take place at the Farmington Library, 508 Third St.

Spaghetti dinner/Bingo party

The Farmington/ Hampton Knights of Columbus will hold their annual spaghetti dinner bingo party at 5:30 p.m. Feb. 21 at St. Michael's Catholic Church at the corner of Ash Street and Denmark Avenue.

Bingo fund-raiser

There will be a Bingo fund-raiser for the Farmington High School senior class party from 2 to 5 p.m. Feb. 21 at the Farmington Eagles Club, 200 Elm St.

Spaghetti dinner

There will be a spaghetti dinner fund-raiser at 6 p.m. Feb. 21 at the St. John Catholic Church parish hall in Vermillion. Proceeds will go to St. John education programs.

February 24

Book club meeting

The Farmington Friends of the Library book club meets the fourth Tuesday of the month at 7 p.m. in the meeting room of the Farmington Library.

The selection for Feb. 24 is the novel Tallgrass, by Sandra Dallas.

Part thriller, part historical novel, the story is set during WWII in a small Colorado town where the government has opened a Japanese internment camp.

Blood drive

There will be an American Red Cross blood drive from 12:30 to 5:30 p.m. Feb. 26 at Roundbank, 3380 Vermillion River Trail.

Senior night at FHS boys basketball

Farmington High School will hold a Senior Citizen Night at the Feb. 27 boys basketball game against Prior Lake. Seniors get free admission, free popcorn and free coffee. The game starts at 7:30 p.m.
