The Farmington High School Performing Arts and Speech Department will be presenting their One Act Play, "The Wedding Reception" by Anton Chekhov and translated by Laurence Senelick, on Thursday, Jan. 25.

Two performances, under the direction of Mr. Bradley Mariska, will take place at 6:30 and 8 p.m. at the Boeckman Middle School Auditorium. Performances are free of charge and open to the public. The 1889 play by celebrated Russian playwright Chekhov follows events and interactions during a wedding celebration, and entertains the audience (the "guests") with humorous interpretations of real-life situations and relationships. The cast and crew cordially invite all attendees to "celebrate" by bringing a wedding "gift" of a non-perishable food item for the local food shelf, and wedding cake and punch will be served between the performances.

The product has also received from Hy-Vee of Lakeville a donation of the wedding cakes for the "reception" between the two performances.
