To the editor,
Farmington residents are fortunate to have Julie May as a candidate for Farmington City Council. Julie is a capable and competent leader who has served — and continues to serve — the Farmington community in multiple capacities.
Julie served as charter president of the Farmington Rotary Club, an organization dedicated to service above self, and is a past director of the Farmington Chamber of Commerce. Julie is currently serving a second term as president of Farmington Rotary, is a member of the advisory board for Trinity Campus/Farmington Health Services and serves on St. Michael’s finance council. She has a B.A. in business management and marketing from the College of St. Catherine, worked in downtown Farmington for four years and is now vice president at a community bank.
Julie has an appreciation for Farmington’s past and a vision for our future. She spent 10 years as a grain buyer and elevator manager and respects Farmington’s agricultural heritage. Her inclusive style of leadership will encourage people to work together to proactively manage Farmington’s challenges of economic development, transportation, taxes and growth.
Julie has the knowledge, skills and experience to be an effective council member. She has proven herself as a qualified and dedicated community servant and business leader. We would be lucky to have her represent the citizens of Farmington. Join me voting for Julie May for city council Nov. 4.
