November 13
Community meal
There is a community meal at 5:30 p.m. the second and fourth Thursday of the month at Farmington Lutheran Church, 20600 Akin Road, Farmington. The meal is free but a free will offering is accepted. All are welcome. The meals are held the second and fourth Thursday of each month. For more information, call Sandy Glau at 651-463-3360.
November 14
Baby storytime
Children can attend Baby Storytime from 10:30 to 11:15 a.m. Nov. 14. The event will include stories, songs, bounces and playtime.
The library is located at 508 Third St.
Holiday boutique
Grand Hall Studio will hold a holiday boutique and bazaar from 2 to 6 p.m. Nov. 14 and from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Nov. 15. Local businesses, artists and home-based businesses will be invited to display their wares. The studio is at 217 Oak St.

Genealogy class
The Dakota City genealogy class will meet at 1 p.m. Nov. 15 at Ahlberg Hall on the Dakota County Fairgrounds. Anyone interested in history is invited to come.

Turkey Bingo
The Farmington Fire Department will hold its annual Turkey Bingo fundraiser from 7 to 11 p.m. Nov. 15 at Fire Station No. 1, 21625 Denmark Ave. The fundraiser is the largest community outreach event the department holds. Proceeds go to buy equipment for the department.
Membership breakfast
The Farmington American Legion will hold an Early Membership breakfast from 8 a.m. to noon Nov. 15. All veterans will eat for free.

Waggin’ Tales
Children can attend a Waggin’ Tales program from 10:30 to noon Nov. 15. Children can practice reading skills by reading to different breeds of therapy dogs or have the dog handlers read to them.

Open house
The River Church of Farmington will host an open house from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, Nov. 15 for members of the Rambling River Center, the senior citizens of Farmington, Farmington business owners, city of Farmington employees and interested citizens.
The church recently moved in to its new facility, located at 408 Third St. (formerly Dueber's).
November 16
Omelet breakfast
The Farmington Sons of the American Legion will hold its monthly omelet breakfast fundraiser from 8:30 a.m. to noon Nov. 16. Proceeds will benefit 2009 Rambling River Days.

Chili cook-off
Farmington VFW Post 7662 will hold a chili cook off Nov. 16. All chili must be at the post by halftime to be entered. Customers will receive two tickets to vote with.
The VFW post is located at 421 Third St.
November 18
Wine tasting
Farmington Liquors will sponsor a wine tasting event from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Nov. 18 at Trinity Care Center. The event will be a fundraiser for the care center. Proceeds will go to the center’s outdoor garden area. Farmington Liquors will provide a selection of wine, cheese and crackers. There will also be a silent auction.
The care center is located at 3410 213th St. West.
November 22
Turkey Bingo
The Farmington/Hampton Knights of Columbus will hold its annual Turkey Bingo party from 6 to 9 p.m. Nov. 22 at St. Michael’s Catholic Church, 220th Street and Denmark Avenue. There will be a sloppy joe supper at 5:30 p.m. Proceeds will go to the Farmington Food Shelf.
November 25
Book club
The Farmington Friends of the Library book club will meet at 7 p.m. in the meeting room of the library, 508 Third St. The book for November is The Yiddish Policemen’s Union by Michael Chabon.

Boy Scout tree lot
Farmington Boy Scout Troop 116 will run its Christmas tree lot from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Nov. 28-30 at the Reisinger Farm on Akin Road. The Scouts will sell trees and wreaths.
