Dorothy Gladys Wiese, age 90, died peacefully and naturally at home on Jan. 17, 2009.

Dorothy Gladys Wiese, age 90, died peacefully and naturally at home on Jan. 17, 2009.

She was born in Wausau, Wis. in 1918, the fourth child of Harry and Edith Schliecher.

She outlived her parents and siblings William “Bud,” Eileen Tutewohl, Violet Galloway and Russell; her husband, Helmer Wiese; and daughter, Sharon Wiese Foss.

She is survived by her sister Jeannie Wahner (Don); her sons David, Steven (Lucia) and Mark; grandchildren Wendy Preston (Tom), Janet Trout (Doug), Jason, Jeff (Shari), Ariana Volovsek (Ryan), Alexandra, Collin and Matthew; great-grandchildren Casey, Michelle, Shawn, Ryan, Brianna, Major, Bella Grace and Lila; great-great-grandchildren Kaylee and Kaden; and many nieces and nephews.

Dorothy’s work was mainly at home, raising her family, but she could be found around town over the years working part-time at Kay Barger’s Dress Shop and as a hostess at the Grain Exchange (now the Longbranch.) She was a champ at bowling, and she used to be a member of the Farmington Eagles. Dorothy will always be loved and deeply missed by her family and friends.

A memorial service will be held at the Farmington Lutheran Church, 20600 Akin Rd. in Farmington, on Saturday, Jan. 31, 2 p.m.
