Madeline (O’Rourke) Bader, 91

J. Madeline (O’Rourke) Bader, age 91, of Farmington, formerly of St. Paul, died Feb. 13, 2009.

Preceded in death by husband, Donald.

Survived by children Louis (Nyla) Bader, of Orono; Mary Bader (Joel Papa) of Wayzata; Thomas (Brenda) Bader of Lakeville; Melly (Souheil) Ailabouni of Farmington; 15 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

As the last of eight children of Matthew and Mary O’Rourke in Frogtown, Madeline reigned as matriarch of a large extended family of O’Rourke descendants. She loved well and was greatly loved in return. Her quick wit will be missed as much as her quiet good deeds. She worked for many years for the St. Paul public schools. Among the great joys of her life were her four trips to her father’s native Ireland and newfound family there.

Visitation was held Feb. 17 at White Funeral Home, Farmington. Mass of Christian Burial, Feb. 18, at St. Vincent de Paul Church, St. Paul, with visitation before Mass.
