DRAFT WATER RESOURCES

MANAGEMENT

ORDINANCE

Douglas Township, Marshan Township, Nininger Township, Ravenna Township, Vermillion Township, and City of Vermillion

The Townships of Douglas, Marshan, Nininger, Ravenna, and Vermillion, and the City of Vermillion will hold a joint public hearing on Monday, March 16, 2009, at 7:00 p.m. at the Ravenna Town Hall, 20425 Red Wing Blvd. (1/4-mile east of Highway 316 on Red Wing Blvd. at the intersection with Putnam Path). The purpose of the public hearing is to receive public comment on the draft “Rural Collaborative Water Resources Management Ordinance,” prepared for 12 rural communities located in the Vermillion River Watershed. A summary of the draft ordinance will be presented, questions for clarification will be accepted, and public comments will be received at the public hearing. The public is invited to attend the public hearing and submit verbal or written comments for the hearing record.

A similar public hearing for six other rural collaborative communities in the Vermillion River Watershed will be held on Thursday, March 19, 2009, at 7:00 p.m., at the Castle Rock Town Hall, 2537-240th Street (one mile east of Highway 3 on 240th Street). Copies of the draft ordinance may be reviewed by contacting the clerk of the individual communities.
