I am writing on behalf of the Mayer family whose home was destroyed by fire April 9. I myself, am lucky enough to soon be wed to one of their daughters and bore witness to the pain and suffering incurred that fateful day.
We all would like to extend our thanks and gratitude to all involved, from the firefighters trying to save irreplaceable family photos while fighting the fire, to the paramedics with enough heart to console the emotionally injured.
I witnessed tired, sweating firefighters and paramedics take the time to coax a scared cat out from under the deck, unfamiliar neighbors offering help and support, and investigators doing their job with real compassion.
The family takes solace in the fact that even though the road ahead may be long and difficult, there will be people like the ones met today along the path.
Thank you all,
The Mayer family, Richard, Lynnea, Vickie and Sara
