Dakota City Heritage Village seeks volunteers to help with various spring and summer programs for youth and with its annual events.

Dakota City, located on the Dakota County Fairgrounds in Farmington, is a rural agricultural village and museum that connects modern generations to past rural life and heritage.

Volunteers are needed to guide tours, lead school programs in the one-room school, interpret buildings, and assist with food service and admissions. No training is necessary and everyone is welcome.

Dakota City offers many opportunities to volunteer, not all of which require wearing a costume. Volunteering at Dakota City is a great way to meet new people, teach children and visitors about Dakota County’s rural history, and have fun.

Anyone interested in volunteering should contact Dakota City at 651-460-8050 or info@dakotacity.org.
