There will be a fundraising barbecue dinner from 6 to 9 p.m. July 14 for Farmington resident Kim (O’Connor) Thole, who was diagnosed in May with pancreatic cancer.

Make cards and gift bags at the library

The Farmington Public Library invites children ages 6 and up to a make-and-take cards and gift bags art project from 2 to 3 p.m. Tuesday, July 14.

Fundraiser barbecue

There will be a fundraising barbecue dinner from 6 to 9 p.m. July 14 for Farmington resident Kim (O’Connor) Thole, who was diagnosed in May with pancreatic cancer. The benefit, which will be held at Destiny Christian Church, 12119 16th Ave. South in Burnsville, will collect donations to help cover living and medical expenses. There will be a barbecue dinner from 6 to 8 p.m. and a silent auction and raffle will run through dinner. For pre-sale of tickets or questions call Laura at 612-207-802. There is also an account in Thole’s name at all Anchor Bank locations.

Wii at the library

The Dakota County Farmington library invites teens to visit from 3 to 5 p.m. July 15 to play Nintendo Wii games on the big screen.

Meet the instruments

Children ages 3-12 can meet the instruments at the library 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Friday, July 17. Children can look at and try playing 12 musical instruments from Groth Music.

Downtown Day

The Farmington Downtown Business Association will hold Downtown Day from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday, July 18. Come check out a craft and flea market, wild animals from Wolves, Woods and Wildlife, music from a D.J., a classic car show and more. All events will take place in the downtown area.

Comedy juggling

Alan Johnson, Comedy, Juggler Extraordinare, will entertain all ages 10:30 to11 a.m. Friday, July 24.

Steak fry

The Farmington Warrior to Citizen group will hold a fundraiser steak fry from 5 to 9 p.m. July 18 at the Farmington VFW. Funds will be used for programs and events to support and recognize local service members and their families. Cost will be $9 with $4 going to the group. The Warrior to Citizen group is also looking for volunteers to work at the steak fry. For more information go to farmingtonw2c.org and click on the steak fry fundraiser tab.

Ramble and Amble

Farmington’s Ramble and Amble, an annual fundraiser for the American Cancer Society, will take place from 6 to 10 p.m. July 31 at the Dakota County Fairgrounds. For more information call Joan Jensen at 651-423-7491.
