The Farmington Library invites teens to play Wii games on the big screen from 3 to 5 p.m. Aug. 3.

Movies for Kids will be shown from 10:30 to 11:15 a.m. Aug. 7 at the Farmington Library. Movies being shown are Anansi and the Magic Stick, the Talking Melon and Anansi Goes Fishing.

Celebrate Empire

Empire Township will hold its annual community celebration from 6 to 8 p.m. Aug. 6 at Town Hall Park. Entertainment will include the Elevation Variety Band, Doodles and Bobbles the Clowns, Schiffeley Puppet show performing Willie Wonka and the Mystery of the Neverlasting Slobsnauser and demonstrations from the Dakota County K-9 unit. Hog roast

Castle Rock United Methodist Church will hold a hog roast from 4 to 7 p.m. Aug. 9 at the church, 27890 Delft Ave. There will also be a silent auction and live music by Turn Around. For more information, call 507-645-0042.

Celebrate the end of the Farmington Library’s summer reading club with Wendy’s Wiggle, Jiggle and Jam from 10:30 to 11 a.m. Aug. 14.

FHS class of 1964 reunion

The Farmington High School class of 1964 will celebrate its 45-year class reunion by going back to the ’60s Friday evening, Aug. 14 at the Farmington American Legion. Steak fry

Trinity Care Center will hold its annual VFW steak fry from from 5 to 8 p.m. Aug. 15. Half of the proceeds will go to the care center.

Class of ’54 reunion

There will be a gathering of the Farmington High School class of 1954 at 4 p.m. Aug. 15 at the Eagles club.

Fundraising fitness class

Grand Hall Studio will offer Zumba, a fitness class that fuses Latin dance and fitness moves, as part of a fundraiser Aug. 20. The event will raise money for Caring Tree, a group that promotes educational success for Minnesota’s K-12 students in need.
