A Level III sex offender will move back to Farmington Nov. 1.
According to the Farmington police department, Daniel Curtis Duncan, 29, is scheduled to move to a home on the 1000 block of Pine Street. Police detective sergeant Lee Hollatz said Duncan is returning to Farmington after living for a brief time in Faribault.
In 2002, Duncan was convicted for engaging in sexual conduct with a 10-year-old girl. The contact included fondling and penetration. According to the fact sheet released this week by Farmington police, Duncan knew his victim. The offense occurred about a decade ago.
Hollatz said Duncan has lived in the neighborhood he is moving to before. However, due to the terms of his convictions, he must report when he moves to a new location. Under the law, notifications have to be made to schools, daycares and establishments that serve individuals who would likely be victimized.
Because Duncan is a Level III offender — the class for those considered most likely to commit another offense — the Farmington police department will also hold a public meeting so residents can get more information. That meeting will take place at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 28 at Farmington High School.
Duncan is described as a white/Hispanic male with blue eyes, brown hair and a fair complexion. He is 6’2” and has a slender build.
