Dew Days

The last weekend of every June, Farmington comes alive with the annual community celebration, now known as Rambling River Days.

Legend has it the festival was originally named Mountain Dew Days because residents here drank more Mountain Dew per capita than any other city in the nation. For 20 years, the festival was held under the name of the popular soda. It later changed to Dew Days and, three years ago, changed its name to Rambling River Days.

Now, Dew Days is back again.

There are craft sales, a medallion hunt, live entertainment, parades, a pig kissing contest, a rib cookoff and several other events.

Highlights of the weekend include: bed races, a Kiddie Parade and Rambling River Center pig kissing contest, held Saturday; and the grand parade, held Sunday.

Easter Carnival

Farmington’s annual Easter Carnival is a day filled with fun and games for kids. It is held every spring at Meadowview Elementary School

The event is for children ages preschool through fourth grade. The Easter bunny is always present, there is a drawing for a free bicycle and candy and cookies are served.

Halloween Walk

The night of Halloween is a special one in Farmington.

Local businesses team up and put together elaborate displays at the Instructional Service Center, and area children are invited to walk through the setup and fill their bags full of candy.

Typically, the event is held from 5:30 to 7 p.m. on Oct. 31 at the center, located at 510 Walnut St. near downtown Farmington.

Community Expo

New residents of Farmington are invited each year to attend the Farmington Community Expo. The expo features information on the various organizations and businesses in Farmington that can be of assistance to residents.
