Farmington’s boys basketball team saw its losing streak extend to five games with a pair of losses early last week at the Hastings Tournament.

The Tigers dropped their first-round contest to St. Thomas Academy, 77-64, on Tuesday, then exited the tournament after a 68-52 loss to Hastings on Wednesday.

The host Raiders, led by Shane Monjeau’s game-high 26 points, charged to a 43-31 halftime lead. It was the fifth straight game in which the Tigers allowed 40 or more points in the first half.

Senior guard Kyle Winkelman led the visitors with 16 points. Mike Jolliff scored 10 points and Alex Michels and Justin Lavey each added nine.

Five Farmington players scored at least nine points in Tuesday’s opener, but a 48-23 halftime deficit proved too much to overcome against St. Thomas Academy.

Jolliff and Lavey each finished with 12 points and Winkelman, Josh Ruthenbeck and Connor Duffy each chipped in nine.
