Farmington’s boys golf team dropped 16 strokes from its previous Missota Conference meet while playing in the friendly confines of its home course Monday afternoon.
Led by junior Mike Dalhed’s season-best round of 77, the Tigers shot a team score of 322 to place fourth out of eight teams in action at Fountain Valley Golf Course.
Dalhed shot a 39 on the front nine, then came back with a 38 on the back nine. He needed just 25 putts in 18 holes and managed to go up and down 11 times.
Sophomores Tommy May and Mitch Reed backed Dalhed with matching rounds of 81 and Matt Provost rounded out the top four with an 83.
Senior Brady Akin carded a 91 and sophomore Jake Hanson added a 94.
Prior Lake won the meet, 306-315, over runner-up New Prague. Third-place Shakopee finished five strokes ahead of the Tigers at 317.
Ryan Kelly led the JV with an 81 and Cooper Loew added an 81.
The Tigers were sixth at last Tuesday’s conference meet at Stonebrooke Golf Course with a score of 338.
May led the charge with a round of 80, followed by Beers at 84, Provost at 86 and Dalhed at 88.
Hanson (91) and Cooper Loew (92) completed the varsity lineup.
Reed and Kyle Olson carded 85s for the JV.
