Farmington’s inaugural girls lacrosse season came to an end with an 18-4 tournament loss to Bloomington Jefferson Monday night in Bloomington.
The Tigers, who finished with a record of 2-10, fell behind 10-0 by halftime against an experienced Jefferson team that had already beaten them 15-3 earlier this season.
“We faced a very good Bloomington Jefferson team,” Farmington coach Dan Pickens said. “They have had lacrosse there for a while. On a very hot day we were all fighting to keep our energy throughout the entire game.”
The Tigers recovered a bit in the second half as Ally Midboe, Lindsay Benson, Toni Hunsinger and Tia Jacoby each scored goals. Assists went to Haley Bradshaw and Betsy Anderson.
Midboe finished as the Tigers’ scoring leader as she found the net 21 times in 12 games. Adrienne Jolicour was second on the team with 14 goals.
Midboe and Jacoby tied for the team lead with seven assists apiece.
Goaltender Maddie Kohlbeck stopped 14 Jefferson shots.
