Farmington’s winless inaugural boys lacrosse season came to an end with a 19-3 loss to Burnsville in the opening round of the section tournament May 26.
The Tigers trailed 5-0 after the opening quarter and were still behind 12-2 at the halftime break. The Blaze finished the job and advanced in the tournament after posting a convincing 7-1 edge in the second half.
Farmington got just eight shots on goal, but Matt Ackerman, Quinn Malcolm and Trevor Howard each managed to find the back of the net. Nick Midboe tallied the team’s only assist.
Charlie Weierke and Matt Henzerling-Wiese each played 24 minutes in goal. Weierke stopped 10 shots while allowing seven goals and Herzerling-Wiese stopped four shots while surrendering 12 goals.
Jce Childs scored four goals and added two assists to lead Burnsville. Neal Pester also scored four times and Jake Maxson, Brian Atkinson, Mike Dockry, Bohdl Engum and Giovanni Krusmark each scored twice.
