Farmington’s losing streak stretched to six games with a 4-0 loss Monday night at Shakopee.
The Tigers have been outscored a combined 22-4 and been shut out four times since their 2-1 win over Red Wing on Sept. 16. The team fell 2-0 at home last Tuesday against Holy Angels before scoring its only goals of the week during a 6-2 setback Thursday at Northfield.
The Raiders built a 5-0 first-half lead before junior Brandon Scott got the Tigers in the scoring column with his second goal of the season on a pass from Cole Landwehr.
Sam Leske added his third goal later in the half to bring the visitors within 5-2, but Northfield added a late goal to push its lead back to four.
“Northfield came ready to play,” Farmington coach Julian Buss said. “About 15 minutes into the game they put the first goal in, and then the next and the next. The first half was not good. We did not play well. We played well in the second half ... but it was not enough.”
The Tigers, now 4-9 overall and 1-4 in Missota Conference play, close out the regular season this week. They hosted Chaska on Tuesday, travel to last-place New Prague tonight and host No. 1-ranked Apple Valley (14-0) in a regular-season finale on Saturday.
