A day after debuting at No. 9 in the Class 4A rankings, the undefeated Farmington girls basketball team showed it belonged.
The Tigers, facing their first ranked opponent of the season in third-rated (Class 3A) Red Wing, established a 28-23 lead by halftime and held on for a 61-57 victory Thursday night at Tiger Gym.
Taylor Meyer paced the winners with a game-high 20 points.
The Tigers will put a 10-0 record on the line next Tuesday at Chanhassen.
