Farmington finished the Missota Conference the same way it started, by winning in dominating fashion.

The 15th-ranked Tigers capped off the program’s second undefeated run through the league — and second straight league championship — by downing Northfield 7-2 Friday night at Schmitz-Maki Arena. They also posted a 7-0 shutout against Holy Angels last Tuesday in Richfield.

The wins capped off an 18-6 regular season that earned the Tigers the No. 3 seed in the Section 1AA Tournament, which gets under way with a home matchup against No. 6 seed Kasson-Mantorville Friday night. A win would likely mean a road trip for the section semifinals at 12th-ranked Lakeville North next Tuesday.

Seniors Krystal Baumann and Hannah Alexander each provided hat tricks in the final regular season game of their careers Friday night. After Haley Doll opened with a goal at 1:22 of the first, the senior duo scored goals in a 34-second span to make it 3-0.

Baumann scored a power play goal in the second, then Alexander scored two power play goals of her own in the third to make it 6-2. Baumann capped the scoring with her 46th goal of the season.

Betsy Anderson and Haleigh Zwart each assisted on three of the goals and Baumann, Rachael Peroutky and Chloe Batta added two apiece.

Goaltender Jessica Erchul stopped 24 of 26 shots to finish the regular season with a .914 save percentage.
