State tournament updates

Class 2A State Swimming and Diving
Farmington senior diver Tyler Magalis is in first place after the prelims at the University of Minnesota Aquatics Center.
Magalis, a four-time state qualifier in the 1-meter dive, scored 324.25 points in Thursday's prelims. Andrew Germain of Bengals is second with 290.95 points.
In the pool, Brian Huls was the only swimmer to earn reach the top 10 with an eighth-place prelim time of 48.12 seconds in the 100 freestyle. He was also ninth in the 50 freestyle and helped the 200 medley relay place 14th and the 200 freestyle relay place 10th.
Allen Berg turned in another career-best time (4:56.09)to place 22nd out of 32 swimmers in the 500 freestyle.
Class 3A State Wrestling
Senior Carl Elmer, a three-time state qualifier, opened the state wrestling meet with a 7-0 decision over Chris Keske of Sauk Rapids-Rice. Elmer lost to Brandon Kingsley (41-2) of Apple Valley in the quarterfinals, but advanced to the second day of the tournament with a 7-0 decision in the consolation bracket.
Elmer continued through the consolation bracket Saturday with a 5-1 decision over Frank Cramer of Maple Grove.
