The Farmington boys golf team is in the middle of the Missota Conference portion of its schedule and the Tigers are trying to climb up the conference standings.
Last week, Farmington took part in a conference tournament at River Oaks Golf Club in Cottage Grove. The Tigers shot a combined 328 to place sixth as a team. Chaska won the team portion with a total of 298 shots. Farmington was six shots back of fifth-place Red Wing and 10 shots clear of seventh-place Holy Angels.
Following Chaska’s winning total was Chanhassen (308 strokes), New Prague (320), Red Wing (322), Farmington, Holy Angels (338), Northfield (339).
Cooper Loew led the way for the Tigers with a consistent 18 holes. Loew shot a 40 on the front nine and came back with a 38 to finish out the course.
Tommy May opened with a 36, but struggled to a 44 on the back nine.
Jacob Hanson shot a combined 84 for Farmington. Matt Provost carded an 86.
Rounding out the scoring, Trevor Hockert finished with a 90 and Mike Dalhed shot a 94.
Farmington plays in another conference tournament on May 23 at New Prague.
