The Farmington School Board will vote on a slate of four finalists for its superintendent position at a special meeting Monday night.

The board received 29 applications for the job, and search consultant Ken LaCroix said he was happy with the quality of the applicants. A subcommittee of board members Julie McKnight, Brian Treakle and Melissa Sauser sorted through those applications Saturday morning and selected the four finalists.

“As we sat down Saturday we looked for experience. We looked for a history of continuity from teaching to building-level administration to central office,” LaCroix said. “Anything indicative of an ability to create a team of administration staff.”

LaCroix would not name the four finalists before the school board’s vote Monday night to accept the recommendations. But he said all four are currently superintendents, and all have experience at multiple levels. Some have been superintendents in multiple school districts.

The school board will meet at 6:30 p.m. Monday night in the little theater at Boeckman Middle School. Interviews will take place Wednesday and Thursday.
