Thursday is a busy day, filled with elementary school open houses, a farmer's market and plenty of other activity. Read on to see what's going on.

Farmer’s market
The Farmington farmer’s market will take place from 3 to 7 p.m. Sept. 1 on Third Street by city hall. A number of local vendors will have fresh produce and other items for sale.
Akin Road Elementary open house
Akin Road Elementary School will hold a back-to-school open house from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. Sept. 1. The open house is a chance for students and families to meet teachers and classmates and take a tour of the school.
Meadowview Elementary open house
Meadowview Elementary School will hold a back-to-school open house from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. Sept. 1. The open house is a chance for students and families to meet teachers and classmates and take a tour of the school.
Riverview Elementary open house
Riverview Elementary School will hold a back-to-school open house from 4 to 6 p.m. Sept. 1. The open house is a chance for students and families to meet teachers and classmates and take a tour of the school.
Tigersharks registration
There will be a registration session for the Tigersharks Swim Club from 6 to 7 p.m. Sept. 1 at the Dodge Middle School pool. Tigersharks is a year-round competitive swim team. Live music
Al Yvigues will perform outside from 7 to 9 p.m. Sept. 1 at Dunn Bros. Coffee in Farmington. Yvigues is a jazz and blues guitarist and vocalist.
