Three gymnasts captured first-place finishes for Farmington as the Tigers got together over their holiday break to score 133.75 points and edge host Rosemount by less than a point Thursday night.

“It’s always hard to have a meet during the holidays,”Farmington coach Lynn Bauman said. “We tried our best and pulled out a win. The girls were positive and made a big improvement on the beam.”

Kathryn Beckett led the Tigers with a second-place finish in the all-around. A winning 8.0 score in the uneven bars, a second-place vault score of 9.1 and a second-place score of 8.85 in the floor exercise helped her score a 32.4 overall.

Teammate Kiana Lord was close behind, placing third in the all-around with a score of 32.25. She was first in the vault with a meet-best score of 9.4 and placed fourth in both the beam and floor exercise.

Kylie Wharton added a winning score in the beam, where she earned an 8.75. Jade Alm was second in the event with an 8.45.

Wharton finished fifth in the all-around with a score of 31.35. Briana Ruiz added a second-place finish in the bars.

The Tigers are back in action this weekend when they compete at the Faribault Invitational Saturday at Faribault Middle School. They will likely be without Tahra Eckert, who suffered an elbow injury against Rosemount.
