Farmington ended up 13th against a talented field of teams in the Maroon Division of the Maroon and Gold Invitational Saturday at the University of Minnesota Aquatics Center.
The Tigers scored just 71 points, but head coach Ryan Hamen was pleased with his team’s effort.
“We did not score well, but the boys swam well,” he said. “This is going to help us in true team, our depth. The boys are working very hard at their techniques and after every swim are talking about what they have to work on. They are looking forward to what they will need to do for our meet versus Shakopee this week and the section true team meet this coming Saturday.”
Junior Christopher Kirchmann was Farmington’s highest finisher. He placed ninth in the 50 freestyle in a time of 23.25 seconds and 10th in the 100 freestyle in 51.11. Teammate Evan Carufel added an 11th-place score of 152.60 in the 1-meter dive.
