Your weekend: KC free throw contest is Saturday

From free throw contests to live music to something called a Pajama Jammie Jam, there's no shortage of activity this weekend in Farmington. Read on to see what's happening.

Thursday

Coffee social for military moms and grandmas

Farmington’s Warrior to Citizen committee will hold its monthly mother/grandmother coffee social from 6 to 8 p.m. Jan. 12 at the Farmington VFW.

Friday

Storytime at the library

The Dakota County Farmington Library will offer storytime for all ages from 10:30 to 11 a.m. Jan. 13. Storytime features stories and activities suitable for a mixed age group. The library is located at 508 Third St.for more information visit www.dakotacounty.us/library or call 651-438-0250.

Live music

The Exchange Street Boys will perform jazz/blues music from 7 to 9 p.m. Jan. 13 at Dunn Bros. Coffee in Farmington. Dunn Bros. is located at 20700 Chippendale Ave.

Saturday

Free throw contest

Boys and girls ages 10 to 14 can participate in the 2012 Knights of Columbus free throw championship at 10:30 a.m. Jan. 14 at Levi Dodge Middle School, 4200 208th St. W. Winners in the local-level competition hosted by Farmington Knights of Columbus Council #2400 will advance to district competition. All local contestants will receive recognition for their participation. Participants must provide proof of age and written parental consent. Entry forms will be available. Pajama Jammie Jam

Blondie’s Tavern will hold its Pajama Jammie Jam Saturday night. Visitors can wear pajamas and dance to the music of DJ Danny.
