Your weekend: Talk business at Thursday night event

Whether it's homemade soup with Superintendent Jay Haugen or spaghetti bingo with the Knights of Columbus, there are plenty of things going on in Farmington this weekend.

Thursday

Travel baseball fundraiser

There will be a travel baseball fundraiser from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Feb. 23 at Angel2Diva Boutique in downtown Farmington. Shop that day and 20 percent of sales will go to FTBA for field improvements, equipment, supplies and baseball tournaments. There will be appetizers and refreshments and drawings for prizes. Angel2Diva is located at 308 Oak St.

DCTC night at Dunn Bros.

Dakota County Technical College will hold an event from 6 to 8 p.m. Feb. 23 at Dunn Bros. Coffee. The event is a celebration of the community and its businesses. DCTC entrepreneurship and small business operations programs will be featured. Visitors can receive one free non-alcoholic beverage.

Dunn Bros. is located at 20700 Chippendale Ave.

Diabetic support group

A diabetic support group will meet at 6:30 p.m. Feb. 23 at the Allina Farmington clinic. The group meets monthly and is free and open to anyone interested in diabetes. The February meeting is an open meeting.

School district roundtable

The Farmington School District will hold a community roundtable meeting from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Feb. 23 at Dodge Middle School. The meeting will be a chance to discuss issues such as budget guidelines and the district’s technology initiative. Residents can come at 6:30 for a dinner of homemade soup and bread made by superintendent Jay Haugen.

Friday

Storytime for all ages

There will be a storytime for all ages from 10:30 to 11 a.m. Feb. 24 at the Dakota County Farmington Library. The event includes stories and activities appropriate for mixed age groups. The library is located at 508 Third St.

Saturday

Spaghetti Bingo

The Farmington Knights of Columbus Council 2400 will hold its annual spaghetti dinner and evening of Bingo starting at 5:30 p.m. Feb. 25 at the Church of St. Michael, 22120 Denmark Ave. The menu will include homemade meatballs. Proceeds will go to charitable and service projects sponsored by the KCs.
