North Trail Elementary School is once again participating in the GreenSneakers Eco Challenge. This is the second year that the school is participating in this drive that will take old, outgrown sneakers and refurbish them to become affordable footwear for people in need around the world.
Collections will begin at the March 2 Family Fun Night and will run through April 20. NTES will receive 50 cents for each pound of shoes that are collected. Last year the school raised approximately $600 through the GreenSneakers program. Other than being a "pair of sneakers" there are no other restrictions to what sneakers can be collected -- adult and kid sizes are accepted.
The grade level that collects the most pairs of shoes will win an extra hour of phy ed with Jack Olwell
