Farmington mayor Todd Larson will recount the accomplishments of 2011 in his annual State of the City address, which has been scheduled for May 10 at Farmington City Hall.

The date may seem late — it is about six weeks later than last year’s address, which was held on April 1, 2011 — but that’s because scheduling the address was easier said than done this year. City of Farmington executive assistant Cindy Muller said getting schedules together and finding a date that would work for everyone involved took a little more time than in the past.

All the same, the address is now scheduled and city staff is working on reports to give to Larson. The Farmington parks and recreation department report was presented at Monday’s Farmington City Council meeting. Other reports will be collected over the next few weeks to provide content for the annual address.

The State of the City address will be held in the council chambers at city hall at 10:30 a.m., May 10. The city is inviting members of the Farmington Business Association, the Dakota County Regional Chamber of Commerce and residents at large to attend. The address is free and open to the public.

Additionally, it will be played live on the city’s cable channel, Channel 6, and posted on the city’s website, www.ci.farmington.mn.us. It will be taped and replayed several times on Channel 6, as well.
