City of Farmington's annual curbside cleanup program starts April 21

The city of Farmington’s residential garbage customers can dispose of large household items during the city’s annual curbside cleanup days, which start April 21.

Items must be from residents living within city limits and available at the curb by 7 a.m. on your designated Saturday. To keep the city clean and reduce excess traffic, residents are encouraged not to set items at the curb more than two days before their scheduled collection Saturday.

Doors must be removed from refrigerators and other appliances that fasten automatically must be removed for safety. Residents should call 911 to report illegal dumping or scavengers making a mess.

Other options

The Farmington City Council and the Dakota County Board of Commissioners are offering a household hazardous waste drop-off event in Farmington on Saturday, Sept. 8, at the Farmington Maintenance Facility.

This event provides Dakota County residents with a convenient opportunity to safely dispose of unwanted paints, solvents and other household chemicals. If you can’t use up hazardous household chemicals or give the items to someone who will, these items are accepted year-round at Dakota County’s Recycling Zone in Eagan. Residents can take advantage of the one-day drop-off event in Farmington.
