Winter’s windy assaults can cause havoc on the aesthetics of the city’s natural resources. Each spring the city asks residents to help with a little outdoor cleaning.
Individuals, civic groups, businesses, clubs, youth organizations and neighborhood groups are invited to participate in picking up trash at city-owned ponds and parks from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday, April 28. The city will provide volunteers with supplies and dispose of the garbage. After the cleanup efforts, volunteers will be treated to lunch.
Anyone interested in participating should call Jen Dullum at 651-280-6845 or email Jen Dullum by April 20.
Last year more than 525 volunteers picked up 1.23 tons of garbage from natural areas during the pond cleanup day.
