Your weekend: Circus comes to Farmington Saturday
Lots of activities are planned at the Farmington Library over the next few days, and the circus is coming to town Saturday. Want to know what else is coming up? Read on to find out.
Books and Beyond: Art Show
Children can get an introduction to art and artists through pictures and paintings from 10:30 to 11:15 a.m. April 19. Children can also create their own work of art with District 192 ECFE. Guitar Hero at the library
Teens can play Guitar Hero on the library’s big screen from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. April 19. The library is located at 508 Third St.
Blood drive
There will be a Red Cross blood drive from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. April 19 at Valmont Industries, 20805 Eaton Ave. in Farmington. Call 1-800-Red Cross or visit redcrossblood.org to make an appointment.
Friday
Storytime for all ages
There will be stories and activities ideal for mixed age groups such as childcare groups from 10:30 to 11 a.m. April 20 at the Dakota County Farmington Library. The library is located at 508 Third St.
Live music
G & The Boys will perform bluegrass, folk and rock music from 7 to 9 p.m. April 20 at Dunn Bros. Coffee, 20700 Chippendale Ave.
Saturday
Waggin’ Tales
Kids can practice their reading skills by reading to trained therapy dogs from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. April 21 at the Dakota County Farmington Library. The library is located at 508 Third St.
Steak fry
Boy Scout Troop 119 will hold a steak fry from 5 to 8 p.m. April 21 at the Farmington VFW. The menu will include a Von Hanson steak, baked potato, salad, vegetables, dessert and coffee. Proceeds will support local Boy Scout activities. The VFW is located at 420 Third St.
Bingo for the food shelf
Support the Farmington Food Shelf by playing Bingo from 2 to 4 p.m. April 21 at Celts Pub, 200 Third St. The event is sponsored by the Farmington Eagles.
Circus
The Great American Family Circus will perform at 7 p.m. April 21 at Schmitz-Maki Arena. Free tickets for children 12 and under are available at several local businesses. Come early for elephant and pony rides.
Sunday
Italian dinner and concert
Farmington Lutheran Church Youth will hold an Italian dinner and concert at 5 p.m. April 22 at the church, 20600 Akin Road. Dinner will start at 5 p.m. The concert by Two Copper Coins will start at 6:15. Two Copper Coins is a group of friends from the Cannon Falls area that has come together to play a mix of Christian music. For information visit www.farmingtonlutheran. com or call 651-463-4100.

Emmanuel Cemetery Meeting
The Emmanuel Cemetery Association will hold its annual meeting at 7:30 p.m. April 24 at Faith United Methodist Church. The association will elect trustees and discuss other business. Members and visitors are welcome.

Get tips on small-business financing and underwriting guidelines at a free class at the Dakota County Farmington Library. The class will take place from 6:30 to 8 p.m. April 24.
Blood drive

Dakota County Lumber will hold its annual deck expo from 4 to 8 p.m. April 26.
Diabetes support group
A diabetes support group will meet at 6:30 p.m. April 26 at the Farmington Allina Clinic. Anyone interested in diabetes can attend this free meeting. The speaker will be Dr. Allen Steed, a psychologist who will talk about depression and living with chronic illness.
