School Board Prep School is offered by District 192 Community Ed

Community Education is offering a free School Board Prep School for anyone that would like to learn more about the role and responsibility of the School Board. 2012 is an election year for Farmington Area Public School’s School Board.

Whether you are considering becoming a candidate, or just would like to better understand how the school board works, this class will be very informative about school district governance. Jay Haugen, Superintendent; Carl Colmark, Finance Director; Tera Lee, School Board chair; and Ben Kusch, principal at Farmington High School will be leading the conversation.

Topics will include Board governance, roles and responsibilities; policy development and accountability; raising student achievement; strategic planning; funding requirements and balancing the budget; and special services and community education.

The free session will be held Tuesday, May 15th at 6:30 pm in the Meadowview Elementary School Media Center. Meadowview Elementary School is located at 6100 195th Street, Farmington. Registration is not required.
