Student column: A to-do list to get students through summer

Summer is finally here and all of us high-schoolers are so excited. If you’re like me you’ve probably already of out of ideas for fun, unique stuff to do, right? Here’s a list I came up with to use as my Summer 2012 Bucket List. My friends and I made it our goal to have done almost all of these things by the end of summer. Maybe if you ever get bored, you want to consider doing the same thing.

Hide and go seek in WalMart: If you choose to do this make sure you do it respectfully. Don’t scream and make a lot of noise. You have to be respectful of all the other customers shopping.

Chinese fire drill: This is a fun thing to do if all the people in the car are licensed drivers.

Go on every rollercoaster at Valleyfair: And put your hands up in the air! It’s a scary but wonderful feeling.

All-nighter: You’ll need lots and lots of caffeine and activities to keep you and your friends entertained, and be prepared to be incredibly loopy the next day.

Drive-in Movie: You’ve seen these in all the sappy chick flicks and I think it’s every girl’s dream to go to one of these with a boyfriend. So guys, take the hint.

Water balloon fight: I had one of these within the past few weeks and I was sad by how short it was. It took us forever to fill the balloons but it took next to no time to get rid of them. So always have lots of balloons ready for when you have a fight.

Go swimming in your clothes: It’s a weird feeling but it’s always fun.

Road trip: This probably isn’t the most practical thing ever but it’s an idea.

Car wash: This doesn’t have to be a big thing; just get all your friends’ cars together and wash them. It’s a good way to cool off and be productive.

Make a fort and sleep in it: If you’re a child at heart like me, this would be a great thing to do on a rainy day.

Go camping with friends If sleeping on the hard ground with no indoor plumbing isn’t for you, try setting up the tent in your basement. Sounds lame but trust me, it adds a twist to a regular sleepover.

Go up to a cabin: Tubing, jet skiing, water skiing, wake boarding. There’s so many things to do at a cabin.

Huge picnic: With all of your friends

Go and pick strawberries: Picking strawberries always includes eating a couple. Never a bad thing.

Twins game: At the new Target Field.

Pool party: Water gun fight A fun way to cool down on a hot day.

I hope this list helps you when you’re sitting around bored at home. I know it will be keeping me and my friends pretty entertained.
