Your weekend:Dew Days returns this weekend

There are lots and lots of activities scheduled around town for this weekend's Dew Days festival. Check out this list to see what's coming up.

Thursday

Chocolate chip cookie contest

The Dakota County Farmington Library will hold a chocolate chip cookie contest from 3 to 4 p.m. June 14. The contest is open to all ages. Registration is required. The library is located at 508 3rd St. in downtown Farmington. For information call 651-438-0250.

Friday

Craft fair

There will be a children’s craft fair from 10 a.m. to noon June 15 at the Dakota County Farmington Library. Registration is required. The library is located at 508 3rd St. in downtown Farmington. For more information, visit www.dakotacounty.us/library or call 651-438-0250.

Live music

Tim Jackson and his As Is Band will perform acoustic folk and bluegrass music outside, weather permitting, at 8 to 10 p.m. June 15 at Dunn Bros. Coffee, 20700 Chippendale Ave.

Saturday

Masons waffle breakfast

The Farmington Masons, Corinthian Lodge No. 67 will hold its third annual waffle breakfast from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. June 16 at the Masonic Lodge, 326 Third St. The fundraiser benefits the annual Farmington High School Corinthian Lodge college scholarship awards.

Sunday

Military Family Day

Military families can enjoy an afternoon of fun from noon to 4 p.m. June 10 at the Dakota County Fairgrounds. The Yellow Ribbon Networks of Dakota County will offer an event that includes a free lunch, horse rides, a climbing wall and vehicles like fire trucks and police cars to explore. Dew Days

Dew Days returns to Farmington June 13-16. Events kick off with Wednesday night’s Miss Farmington pageant and continue with a lineup of familiar favorites like Thursday’s Flavors of Farmington, Friday’s bed races and Saturday’s parade. For a complete list of events visit farmingtondewdays.com.

Upcoming events

Knitting class

Teens can learn to cast on and start their first knitting project from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. June 18 at the Dakota County Farmington Library. Supplies are provided. The library is at 508 Third St.

Blood drive

There will be a Red Cross blood drive from 12:30 to 5:30 p.m. June 19 at RoundBank in Farmington. RoundBank is located at 3380 Vermillion River Trail. To donate call 1-800-RED-CROSS or visit redcrossblood.org to make an appointment.

Storytime in the park

The Dakota County Farmington Library will present a story, crafts and games from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. June 20 at Farmington Preserve Park, 19975 Embers Ave.

Magical Mia

Magical Mia will perform from 10:30 to 11:15 a.m. June 21 at the Dakota County Farmington Library. The library is located at 508 Third St.

Guitar Hero at the library

Farmington teens can play Guitar Hero on the big screen at the library from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. June 21. The library is located at 508 Third St.
