“We had an idea of what we wanted to accomplish and set some aggressive fundraising campaigns to make this project happen,” project coordinator Steve Berdan said. “With the Minnesota Twins Community Fund Field For Kids Grant, we were able to do even more in multiple locations said Berdan.”
Enclosed dugouts were added to Field C and a backstop to Field D, giving the complex four usable fields.
FGFA members took an active role in fundraising and securing funds for improvements including a $5,682 matching grant through the Minnesota Twins Community Fund/Fields for Kids Program. Cost of the Field C and D improvements totaled $15,230. Additional projects were added for Boeckman Field B and batting cages along with field improvements at Farmington Elementary to bring the total investment to nearly $25,000.
